The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America Will Cover George Zapantis Funeral Expenses

NEW YORK- His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America has directed the  Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America to cover the expenses of the late, 29-year-old, George Zapantis. Mr. Zapantis died last week of cardiac arrest induced by excessive force used by NYPD officers, who tasered him twice, responding to the home of Mr. Zapantis due to reports of a sword being wielded.

In addition to covering the expenses, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros will also, personally, preside over funeral proceeds which will take place on Monday morning at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Whitestone, New York. 


CHICAGO – After a two-year hiatus when they were not able to meet in person due to the pandemic, the Metropolis of Chicago Archons held their 7th Annual Metropolis of Chicago Business Retreat in person at the Saint Iakovos Retreat Center in Kansasville, Wisconsin.
