The Archbishop and the President. Hellenic College and Holy Cross Could Not Be in Better Hands

Dear Editor,

The recent happy news coming from Hellenic College/Holy Cross regarding the full restoration of accreditation demonstrates that συμφωνία is alive and well in our Church. The mutuality and synergy of clergy and laity has been a hallmark of Orthodoxy since the days of the Empire. It requires wisdom, skill, and competency on all sides, and with the wise discretion of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros, and the remarkable competency of President George Cantonis, we finally have a combination of leadership skills that mirrors the very best in this tradition inherited from Byzantium.

In Archbishop Elpidophoros, we have Chairman of the Board of the School who is not only a scholar himself, but someone who knows how to let management work. And in President Cantonis, we have an executive whose success is manifest, and who brings best practices to an institution that has long been subjected to personal agendas and incompetence.
