Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
LAS VEGAS, NV – The 101st Annual AHEPA Supreme Convention took place in Las Vegas July 23-29 at the Paris and Horseshoe Hotels with Ahepans and members of the AHEPA Family of organizations, the Daughters of Penelope, Sons of Pericles (SOP), and Maids of Athena (MOA), in attendance from across the country. The 2023 AHEPA Socrates Award was presented to U.S. Ambassador to Greece George Tsunis, while Vasilios Matarangas received the AHEPA Pericles Award, and Gerry and Jeannie Ranglas received the AHEPA Academy of Achievement in Philanthropy Award. Awards were also presented at the AHEPA Family Athletic Luncheon and the SOP/MOA Celebrate the Youth Awards. Among the scheduled events held during the convention were book presentations featuring AHEPA’s 100 Years of Service by Professor Alexander Kitroeff, No Limits by Nick Haritatos, and The Antikythera Computer by Evaggelos Vallianatos, as well as the screening of the documentary film ‘In Support of Liberty’ by award-winning Greek-American filmmaker Eleftherios Kostans. The Grand Banquet and Ball which featured live music and dancing was held on July 27.
