ATHENS — "We are experiencing a clearly strategic failure of the governement on the pandemic front," stated SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Nassos Iliopoulos to radio 'Sto Kokkino' on Friday.
He claimed that the government never really supported or strengthened primary healthcare and has "turned health centres into vaccination centres, essentially annulling their function".
Iliopoulos accused the government of a strategic failure in the vaccination field, saying that "we are experiencing the insanity that, whereas science has produced a vaccine in record time, hundreds of thousand people at this time face the risk of dying and millions are being destroyed financially because the patent regime is not suspended".
Finally, he referred to the need for economic support to all those stricken by the pandemic and the restriction measures as "not only the health part but also financial survival is a prerequisite for the protection of the human life".
