SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance: Gov’t Caught Red Handed

ATHENS — "If everything is so transparent in the last-minute tender for the self tests, why does the government insist on rejecting SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance's proposal for a cross-party committee for all procurements and spending for the pandemic," asked the main opposition party in response to statements by government spokesperson Aristotelia Peloni on Monday.

SYRIZA claimed that the government was "caught red-handed with the intransparent tender for direct appointment and rushed to change it".

"Why is the government ignoring the fact that the reliability of self tests is much lower than even the rapid tests, which is about 70 percent accurate, and consequently the danger of false negative results and of the complacency will be very high," SYRIZA concluded.

ATHENS - The matter of an alleged plan to draw up an agreement between Turkey and Libya on the exploitation of Libyan energy sources by Turkey is being closely followed, Greek diplomatic sources said on Monday.
