SYRIZA: No More Time to Lose in Fighting the Coronavirus Pandemic

October 28, 2020

ATHENS — There is no more time to lose in the fight against the pandemic, SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance said on Tuesday following the announcement of the daily coronavirus cases in Greece.

Noting that patients in intensive care units (ICUs) had surpassed the 100-mark, the main opposition party criticized the government for having wasted time and focused on public relations.

The solution, it said, would be to requisition private ICUs, provide free mass prescriptions for testing, involve primary health care, and do mass permanent-job hirings for the national health system. "Every further delay constitutes a conscious crime against society," it insisted.

ANKARA - Continuing his country's relentless verbal assault, Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that being a member of the European Union won't help Greece if trouble brews between them.
