SYRIZA Leader Tsipras Visits Rhodes, Symi

RHODES – SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras is visiting the islands of Rhodes and Symi on Wednesday.

Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras on Wednesday sent a message of support and solidarity to the thousands of workers employed in the tourism sector, under particularly difficult conditions.

Tsipras, who is visiting the island of Rhodes, earlier met with the administration of the Rhodes Labour Centre.

The leader of SYRIZA referred to the great responsibilities of the government for the fact that workers, especially of the tourism sector, work in extremely difficult conditions while at the same time they are faced with soaring prices.

“We must support the people of labour because there can be no prospects for the economy and productivity without employees,” he said.

Tsipras reiterated that his party is ready to take over the governance of the country.

“The sooner the elections take place the better, so that we have the opportunity to tackle the country’s problems,” Tsipras stressed.
