Summer Sales in Greece Begin on Monday

ATHENS — The summer sales begin in Greece on Monday and will last until August 31. Shops will have the option to remain open on July 19, the first Sunday of the sales period. The Sunday opening times recommeded by the Athens Merchants' Association are 11:00 – 18:00.

During the sales period, shops are required to show both the previous and current sale price of all discounted items, while they are permitted to record the percentage discount.

When more than 60 pct of the stock on sale is sold at discount, the shop is required to indicate the percentage discount. The percentage discount or range of discounts on items must also be indicated in the shop window. Otherwise, there must be a sign that the discounts are on selected items.
