Statement from Senate Deputy Leader Gianaris on Woodside Fire 

WOODSIDE, NY – New York State Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris issued a statement on March 8 following a massive fire on 59th Street in Woodside that injured nine FDNY firefighters and displaced 18 area residents:

“Last night’s devastating fire caused tremendous harm to members of our community. I have reached out to the FDNY to offer my support to the injured firefighters. I know the tight-knit Woodside community will come together and help our neighbors begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives, and I am ready and able to help in any way I possibly can.”
