State of Emergency Declared in Municipal Unit of Elimnia, Central Greece

ATHENS — A state of civil defence emergency was declared for the municipal unit of Elimnia – part of the Limni-Mantoudi-Agia Anna municipality within the Central Greece Region – on Thursday, to address the emergency needs and manage the repercussions from the destructive forest fires that started in that area on August 3.

The state of emergency was ordered by Deputy Civil Protection and Crises Management Minister Nikos Hardalias and signed by General Secretary for Civil Protection Vasilis Papageorgiou. It will apply from the first day of the fires and for six months, until February 3, 2022.


ATHENS - Greece confirmed 18,834 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, with 45 of these identified at entry points to the country, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) said on Monday.
