Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ASTORIA – The Sacred Patriarchal and Stavropegial Orthodox Monastery of St. Irene Chrysovalantou in Astoria celebrated its namesake saint on July 28 with the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy during which the Patriarchal Message was read. The annual procession of the icon of St. Irene Chrysovalantou followed the Liturgy.
The services were officiated by His Grace Bishop Nektarios of Diokleia, Chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and representative of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, as designated by the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
The faithful from far and wide attended the services and the annual Festival that ran July 25-28 and once again drew a great crowd as every year to honor the Saint and Hellenic culture.
