St. Demetrios in Astoria Ranked among Best Private High Schools in NYS

ASTORIA – St. Demetrios Preparatory School in Astoria is ranked among the best private high schools in New York State along with just three other high schools in Queens for 2021. St Demetrios was ranked #73 on the list compiled by Niche.com which noted that “The Best Private High Schools ranking is based on rigorous analysis of data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data, and ratings collected from millions of Niche users. Additional data is also collected from schools directly.”

The top ten included eight private high schools in Manhattan and two in the Bronx. The number one spot on the list went to Trinity School in Manhattan.

St. Demetrios was ranked second among the Queens private high schools with The Kew-Forest School ranked #54; Archbishop Molloy High School, #95; and Garden School, #97.

According to Niche, St. Demetrios Preparatory School’s Overall Niche Grade is A+. It has 700 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 10 to 1. After graduation, 95% of St. Demetrios students go on to attend a 4-year college.
