ATHENS — The SNF DIALOGUES discussed the challenges—and opportunities—that lie ahead.
The last few decades have seen radical changes in the way we work and the way we perceive work—changes that have led to increased productivity and to economic growth, but not necessarily to increased quality of life for workers. Globalization, technological advancement, artificial intelligence, and generational shifts from Baby Boomers to Gen Z are powerful forces reshaping what work will look like into the future. The COVID-19 pandemic has led companies to change how they do business, and, at the same time, new questions and new dynamics are redefining labor relations.
On Thursday, October 29, the SNF DIALOGUES discussed the challenges—and the opportunities—that lie ahead in “The Future of Work.” The digital workforce and artificial intelligence, remote work and the debate over universal basic income, old jobs that are evaporating and new jobs that are emerging, and the widening gap between high-skilled and low-skilled employment—and consequently between incomes—are some of the topics that were discussed in the DIALOGUES webcast.
