Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
NEW YORK – The Cultural Ministry of Saint George and Saint Demetrios’ Church in Manhattan celebrates World Poetry Day 2021 on March 21st, with the streaming of ‘Singing Poetry,’ a Cyprus New York Production under the musical and artistic direction of Phyto Stratis.
The program consists of songs composed by Theodorakis, Hadjidakis, Loizos, and Terzis, with the poetry of Elytis, Seferis, Sappho, Palamas, and Lorca, and is performed by Aggeliki Psonis, Ariadne Panagopoulou, Demetris Michael, and Louis Panayioutou. Excerpts from the Old Testament’s poem Asma Asmaton will be narrated by Anna Tsoukala Post and Theodoros Petropoulos.
