Secret Greek Shipowner Detained Over Woman’s Murder

A Greek shipowner who was not named surrendered to authorities who had issued an arrest warrant over his alleged involvement in the murder of a woman on the Ionian island of Zakynthos in June, 2020.

The suspect was among the people mentioned in the case file, in which it is mentioned that a car and a speedboat owned by him were used during the deadly attack and escape, accusing him of complicity in homicide, said Kathimerini.

Christina Kloutsinioti, the 37-year-old wife of businessman Dionysis “Dimis” Korfiatis, was  gunned down on the island, her husband providing police with information about the alleged perpetrators.

That came in a 6-page criminal complaint filed in December 2020, before he was also shot dead by unknown assailants earlier in May. He had injured in the 2020 attack, one of a number of shootings, many police tied to the Greek underworld.

Four more suspects are already in pre-trial detention in the same case, the paper also said.
