Second Suspect for Mitropoleos Armed Bank Robbery Arrested in Athens

ATHENS – The second suspect for the armed bank robbery committed on Mitropoleos Street on September 14 was arrested in a sudden police raid on a central Athens hotel on Saturday. According to the Hellenic Police, the 41-year-old suspect was found with a gun in his possession.

A police spokesperson said the arrest was made following coordinated actions by the counter-terrorism service and the Attica Security police, who had been sought since the arrest of his accomplice, a 33-year-old escaped convict, on September 27.
