Schinas: Greece’s Handling of the Coronavirus Pandemic Is Exemplary

February 7, 2021

BRUSSELS — Greece’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic is exemplary, said European Commission Vice-President Margaritis Schinas during the online 4th Thessaloniki Development Conference on Saturday.

At the conference, which is organized by the Greek Institute of Research & Development (ELINEKA), Shinas pointed out that Greece is managing the pandemic “with maturity, with alliances and with confidence.”

“Greece’s government believes in reforms and knows how to put them into practice,” he added, “a country facing the pandemic crisis and its aftermath in an exemplary way for its size and infrastructure,” he noted.

Moreover, Greece has exhibited an “exemplary diplomatic and deterrent power wherever it was needed, at Evros, in the Aegean, in the Southeastern Mediterranean, and with a strong role in the Balkans.”
