Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Daughters of Penelope Narcissus Chapter 289 in Ft. Lauderdale held a Toy Drive to help children in Broward County have a great Christmas this year.
On December 21, Chapter President Judie Pappas and Past President Christina McGuirk delivered two carloads of toys to WestCare Village South in Pembroke Pines which is a nonprofit rehab center for women. At present, they have 20 children, ages 3 months-7 years who live in the facility with their mothers, and 200 outpatient families with children whom they counsel. “The Director, Beatriz Del Rio, and the staff were so excited,” the Chapter said in statement via email.
The Chapter continued, “The generosity of our sisters, parishioners and friends who donated was amazing. We had a variety of toys, dolls, cars, trucks, activity sets, games, etc. for children of all ages along with 150 adorable unicorns, hedgehogs, llamas, dogs and cats- stuffed animals- that were donated to our Toy Drive by Mahi Shriners. Thank you everyone who helped make all these children have a better Christmas!”
