Sakellaropoulou: Today’s Celebration of the Dormition of Virgin Mary Is Special

ATHENS — President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou in her message for the Dormition of Virgin Mary celebrated on August 15 underlined that "in the tragedy that hit Greece in the last days in parallel with the pandemic, today's celebration carries a special weight. Virgin Mary, the sacred person with which our people have developed a very close bond always inspired love, consensus and unity. Necessary values to soothe the pain of our compatriots and to rebuild all those lost in the fires with circumspection and consistency".

Sakellaropoulou attended the liturgy at the Cathedral of the Dormition of Virgin Mary in Nea Philadelphia, Attica region.
