Sakellaropoulou Speaks with Directors of Thessaloniki Hospitals

ATHENS — President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Monday spoke on the phone with Thessaloniki hospital chiefs and expressed her warmest thanks and her unconditional solidarity with the difficult and valuable work of the medical and nursing staff, as well as of the hospitals' support staff.

Sakellaropoulou spoke on Monday with the director of Thessaloniki's Ippokration hospital Nikos Antonakis, the chief of Papanikolaou hospital Maria Giogatzi and the head of AHEPA hospital Panagiotis Panteliadis in order to be informed on the condition prevailing in the city's hospitals and the working conditions of the medical and nursing staff.

The three directors briefed the president on the problems they are facing due to the extraordinary condition caused by the pandemic in northern Greece. On her part, Sakellaropoulou expressed her support, asking the three directors to convey her thanks to medical and nursing staff as well as to all the hospitals' employees and her total support for their difficult and valuable work.
