Sakellaropoulou Sends Condolences to French Amb Over Terror Attack in Nice

ATHENS — The President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou earlier on Friday spoke on the phone with the French Ambassador to Greece Patrick Maisonnave and sent her condolences to the families of the victims of the new terror attack in Nice on Thursday, only a few days after the murder of teacher Samuel Paty.

Sakellaropoulou reassured Maisonnave of Greece's full solidarity with France and with the French citizens and underlined the importance of the European consensus against religious fanatism and bigotry, as well as the need for a steadfast defence of democratic conquests and of ecumenical humanist values.
