Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
WESTLAND, MI – Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church hosts its one-day, indoor, Greek Festival at the Hellenic Cultural Center 36375 Joy Road in Westland, Saturday, February 19.
The event includes live Greek music from the band Enigma Detroit, dancers from the KYKLOS Hellenic Society, and other area Greek Orthodox churches will perform in traditional costumes.
The highlight of the festival is the wide selection of homemade traditional Greek foods — savory and sweet — souvlaki, gyros, pastitsio, spinach pie, fresh Greek salad, sweet loukoumades and Greek pastries, including the ever-popular baklava. Greek beer and wine, Greek coffee and frappes will also be offered.
For those who would prefer, there is also a drive-thru option for delicious Greek food and sweets with advance ordering available online. Advance orders can be places through February 16. Drive-thru pick up hours will be from 11 AM-12 PM, and 2:30-4:30 PM.
Free valet parking is available for Greek Fest guests as well as tours of the beautiful Saints Constantine and Helen Church sanctuary and newly installed iconography will be offered throughout the afternoon; and Greek cookbooks, icons, and gift items will also be available for those who enjoy shopping.
