Prominent Greek Singer Singer Antonis Kalogiannis Dies Aged 86

ATHENS — The popular Greek singer Antonis Kalogiannis passed away on February 11 at the age of 86, ogdoo.gr reported.

Kalogiannis was born in Kesariani. He appeared for the first time on stage in 1966. That same year, he was discovered by Mikis Theodorakis. He went on to perform a tour in the then-Soviet Union.

During the dictatorship, Kalogiannis left Greece in 1967 along with Maria Farantouri and others. They performed internationally due to the political situation in Greece. He released several albums throughout his career and collaborated with many famous artists.
