Private Building Activity Down 6.7% in July

ATHENS – Private building activity fell 6.7% in July compared with the same month last year, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Thursday. More specifically, a total of 2,224 building permits were issued in July, representing 504,407 m2 of surface and 2,501,817 m3 in volume, down 3.2%, 25.6% and 6.7% in comparison with the same period in 2021.

In the January-July period, private building activity grew 0.6% in permits, fell 14.2% in surface and declined by 2.5% in volume compared with the corresponding period last year.
