Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall Arrive in Athens

ATHENS – Prince of Wales Charles and his spouse Duchess of Cornwall Camilla arrived at Athens International Airport shortly before 17:30 on Wednesday, to attend commemorative events for the bicentennial of the Greek Revolution (1821).

They were welcomed by Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias and an honor guard.

The royal couple will be attending a tour of the National Gallery and an official dinner at the Presidential Mansion at 20:30 on Wednesday, and the commemorative military parade at 10:00 at Syntagma Square on Thursday.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will then receive Prince Charles at 12:15 at Maximos Mansion with FM Nikos Dendias.

Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis will bestow Prince Charles with the Athens City golden medal of honor on Thursday afternoon, before the royals' departure at 14:45.
