President Sakellaropoulou to Attend Events for Liberation of Alexandroupolis

ATHENS — President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou will visit the city of Alexandroupolis from Thursday until Saturday to attend the celebrations for the city's liberation.

Sakellaropoulou will meet on Thursday with the Metropolitan of Alexandroupolis, Traianoupolis and Samothraki, Anthimos at 18:00 and half an hour later with the regional governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Christos Metios and the deputy governor Dimitris Petrovits.

On Friday at 10:30 she will attend the liturgy delivered by Metropolitan Anthimos and at 11:15 she will lay a wreath at the heroes monument Domna Visvizi. At 11:50 she will meet with the mayor of Alexandroupolis, Ioannis Zamboukis, and representatives of local authorities.

On Saturday she will visit the town of Orestiada and will meet at 10:30 with its mayor Vasilis Mavridis and later she will go to Didymoticho where she will meet with the Metropolitan of Didymoticho, Orestiada and Soufli, Damaskinos and at 12:55 with its mayor Romylos Hatzigiannoglou and local bodies. Later she will visit the town of Soufli, where she will meet with the mayor Panagiotis Kalakikos and local entities and afterwards she will visit places of cultural interest.
