ATHENS – President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Wednesday met Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, who briefed her on an International Conference on Theology that is due to take place in Athens in October and presented her with an invitation from the Holy Synod to attend.
The conference is on “Orthodox Theology on course for the ‘virtual reality’ of later modernity” and marks the 100th anniversary since the circulation of the magazine “Theology”.
VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis on Wednesday is opening a global gathering of bishops and laypeople to discuss the future of the Catholic Church, including some hot-button issues that have previously been considered off-limits for discussion.
