Police Interrogating Three People for the Murder of Greek Couple in Northern Epirus

TIRANA – Police investigations in Albania are in full swing to solve the brutal murder of two elderly Greeks, 84-year-old Kostas Ilias and his 88-year-old wife, Kleoniki.

According to Himara.gr, the police of Argyrokastro, which has taken over the case, brought in three people for questioning regarding the double murder in the village of Vodrista in Dropoli.

Police sources said that they are two residents of the village in Northern Epirus and an itinerant shepherd.

According to the same sources, they were brought in as persons who may have knowledge of the circumstances of the serious crime.

Testimonies from residents, as well as from Albanian media, speak of bruises on the bodies of the elderly, indicating that the couple was brutally attacked.

What worries the Albanian authorities is the fact that there was no sign of forced entry at the elderly couple’s home, i.e. the door was not found broken, nor was the place disturbed, evidence that leaves open the possibility that this was a crime committed by an acquaintance or relative of the couple.

According to Albanian media, the 88-year-old woman was found dead inside the house and the 84-year-old man in the yard.
