ATHENS — Police blocked full access to Parnitha Avenue (Leoforos Parnithos) at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday because of heavy traffic.

The Attica police headquarters said that traffic was blocked at three points on the lane leading to the Mt. Parnes casino: near the funicular, near the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization building, and at the junction with the Filia Laon Street.

The road had not been fully cleared of snow and congestion resulted when Athenians decided to take advantage of the good weather for an excursion.
