Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS – Police on Tuesday announced the arrest of a 29-year-old man accused of luring two underage girls – aged 15 and 16, respectively – that he’d contacted online to his apartment and raping them after giving them drugs.
They said that the suspect, who resides in one of the south suburbs of Athens, ‘fished’ for young girls via the internet and persuaded them to visit him at home.
The incident was revealed when one of the victims, who was in a very bad condition, told some of her close relatives what had happened and they informed the police.
Police are conducting an investigation to find out whether more girls have been abused by the same suspect.
