PM Mitsotakis Visits AHEPA Hospital in Thessaloniki

THESSALONIKI – The coronavirus pandemic provided an opportunity for the government to see the weaknesses of the National Health System (NHS) and find ways to correct them, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Tuesday during a visit to AHEPA hospital in Thessaloniki.

"One of my commitments is that we will build a new NHS on the coronavirus crisis, keeping its legacy of its great comparative advantages and correcting any of its weaknesses," the premier told staff at the hospital, and thanked them for their devotion to their work.

Head of the hospital's infectious diseases spealists group Simeon Metallidis said that hospital, one of the designated hospitals for exclusive treatment of Covid-19 patients, "managed to be a month ahead of schedule and be prepared before events caught up with us."
