PM Mitsotakis Meets with EPP President Tusk

ATHENS — Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a working breakfast at the Maximos Mansion on Friday morning with the President of the European People's Party (EPP) Donald Tusk.

Mitsotakis discussed with Tusk about the course of the pandemic and the developments regarding the progress of vaccination and the re-opening of tourism activity in Greece.

The President of the EPP underlined the successful management of the pandemic by the Greek government and discussed with Mitsotakis current European issues, in view of the European Council meeting on 24 and 25 May in Brussels. Moreover, the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the course of migration were put on the table.


ATHENS - Greece’s National Security Intergovernmental Council (KYSEA) gave the ok for the country to take part in a  European Union naval mission in the Red Sea to protect merchant ships from attacks by Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen.
