PM Mitsotakis: Europe Asks Us to Deepen Democracy, Solidarity and Our Mutual Ties

ATHENS – "The goddess Europe is of Greek descent and continues to travel in our countries and protect our continent," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Saturday, in a message marking Europe Day and the 70th anniversary since the Schuman Declaration that started the process of European union.

"Forever optimistic, she asks us to deepen democracy, solidarity and our mutual ties, for happer citizens and more equitable societies, a 'greener' sustainable future. It is up to us to continue the difficult but enchanting journey of progress," Mitsotakis added.

NEW YORK – For the antiquities seized by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, in the context of multiple criminal investigations against high-profile traffickers and smugglers, the value of which exceeds $20 million, as well as for other important matters that fall within the competence of the Ministry of Culture, such as reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures, the Tomb of Amphipolis, and the Dikteon Cave of Crete, we had the opportunity to talk with Greek Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni, after the repatriation ceremony of the 29 looted antiquities at the Greek Consulate in New York on March 21.
