Picturesque Island of Elafonissos Sends the Message “Chosen by Nature” to Its Visitors

ATHENS – The small and picturesque island of Elafonissos is sending the message "Chosen by Nature" to the Greek tourist market with the prospect, once the conditions permit, to open its doors to lovers of relaxation and calm. The same message is being sent to the island's foreign visitors who, after the pandemic, will seek to live with nature in a spot protected by NATURA programme.

"We are preparing for a new time with a completely different characteristics, investing in the island's natural heritage, its quaint atmosphere and quality services and, above all, the safety of our visitors," the mayor of the island, Efi Liarou, said.

She noted that the municipality has drawn up a comprehensive plan for approaching the markets that it will gradually unfold, so as to make sure that the island gets the share of tourists that it deserves in the following seasons, after that of 2020.
