Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
NEW YORK – The Pontian Hellenic Outreach and Support (PHOS) Council presents an online event, Tribute to the Pontian Woman, hosted by Holy Institution Panagia Soumela, live on Saturday, June 13, 7 PM, on Facebook and YouTube.
The event is free and open to the public and will include scheduled speakers, a film screening of Genocide- A True Story, music presentation by Dimitrios Stefanidis on Pontian lyra, and an open forum for discussion.
Among the speakers, Dr. Haralambos Vasiliadis will give the opening remarks, Avgi-Maria Atmatzidou will speak about the role of women in Pontos, and Vasiliki Tsanaktsidou, who wrote the film Genocide, will present Den Tha Siopiso (I Will Not Be Silent).
