ATHENS — Greece is satisfied with the text of the conclusions of the European Council regarding Turkey as it repeats and reaffirms the final communiques of previous summits and especially that of March 2021, government spokesperson Aristotelia Peloni told SKAI radio on Friday.
She noted that this concerned the conclusions based on the report by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, "which link any positive agenda with Turkey's behaviour to Greece and Cyprus".
On the Cyprus issue, she said that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis "reiterated Greece's position for a resolution of the Cyprus issue based on a bizonal, bicommunal federation and UN Security Council decisions".
Regarding tourism and freedom of movement, she referred to concern over the Delta variant that is now in Europe, noting that Greece is consistent in accepting the European Certificate and also accepts additional vaccines. "What we consider important now is that everyone is more mature and more experienced. The solution, at this phase, as the prime minister said on Thursday, are the vaccinations and not additional restrictions on movements. Obviously there is vigilance and not complacency and the variants are being monitored," she said.
