Peloni: Targeted Adjustment of COVID-19 Measures, Not Opening

ATHENS — "There's no need to hide it; we are all tired of the restrictive measures. However, it is obvious that with the epidemiological picture we have at present, we cannot talk about opening," underlined government spokesperson Aristotelia Peloni, while speaking to Thema radio on Friday.

"We are talking about targeted actions in order to facilitate the implementation of the measures and we will obviously be open to making adjustments to correct individual measures that may not be working," she said.

Regarding vaccine roll out, she said that "every week we are vaccinating approximately 200,000 people so this should be factored into the equation. As this wall of immunity is being built we can proceed with the lifting of the restrictions. Today the platform opened for groups of people with high-risk underlying ailments and next Friday the platform opens for those aged between 70 and 74.

Finally, she said that in a few days there will be one million Greeks that will have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
