PAOK ‘Flies’ into the Conference League Round of 16

THESSALONIKI – PAOK achieved a great success in the 5th round of the Conference League group stage. Razvan Louchescu’s team beat Eintracht 2-1 in Frankfurt and secured 1st place in their group and qualified for the round of 16.

Aris Limassol doing well in the Europa League. The Cyprus champions drew 1-1 with the Rangers of Scotland at home in Aibrox and are very close to clinching 3rd place in their group, which will give them a ticket to the next stage of the Conference League.

In the same competition, despite being the better side against Brighton, AEK was beaten 1-0 at the OPAP Arena, cutting off its path to the next stage of the Europa League and now they only have hopes for the Conference League.

Panathinaikos is in a similar situation. Ivan Jovanovic’s team, although losing 3-0 to Villarreal in Spain, narrowed the gap to 3-2 but could not reach a draw. Thus, they lost any hope of continuing in the Europa League and will chase any chance for making the Conference League.

Finally, Olympiacos suffered an unprecedented 5-0 crushing defeat to Freiburg at the Europa Park Stadion and will try in its last game against Batschka Topola on December 14 at Faliro to secure third place in the group and continue its European campaign in the Conference League.
