April 13, 2020

ATHENS – The Armed Forces remain on alert along the Greek border to prevent any attempts at illegal entry into Greece, stated Defence Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos on Monday, in an interview with ANT1 TV.

Commenting articles stating that Turkey was massing refugees and migrants on the coast opposite the northern Aegean islands, he said that “we have information to this effect but it is confused; this is just information that we need to collect, examine, evaluate and then see what we are going to do going forward. We are collecting the information, interpreting it and preparing our own response to these phenomena.”

ATHENS — Crowd violence and tear gas marred the Greek Cup final where Panathinaikos made a first-half penalty hold up to beat PAOK 1-0 on Saturday.
