Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
NEW YORK — Online School events are quite challenging to organize. They require a lot of coordination, rehearsals and a lot of work from both students and teachers.
Did this stop the worldwide online Greek School, Greek Lessons OnLine from organizing them? Of course not! They are their favorite days of the year since their students enjoy them more and more every time.
Last Saturday students from all around the world connected from the safety of their homes with their families by their side to celebrate Greece, freedom and peace with their Greek LOL teachers and fellow students.
They read poems and sang songs, they talked about the importance of peace and they showed off their knowledge of Greek history taking part in a knowledge game. Most importantly they interacted with little Greeks just like them from every corner of the planet to remember the heroes of 1940 and promote a message of peace and friendship among all nations.
There is nothing more moving than seeing all these kids interacting with one another as parts of an online Greek community or seeing the pride in their parents’ faces who didn’t stop taking pictures and videos of their talented little Greeks.
