Every nation throughout the course of its existence has had paths forward. Some of those paths have led to prosperity and enlightenment, others have led down a deep well of darkness that oftentimes remind us of the worst things that human beings can do to one another. Somewhere in-between those bookends of history, some nations, and their people, are called upon to make difficult choices. They arrive at a fork in the road.

Time and time again, we hear the same old cliche about how the next or upcoming election is the “most important one in our lifetimes” but what happens if we have really reached that seminal, somber moment?

We are embarking on a national exercise of our democratic rights in two weeks’ time at a moment when there is a once in a century pandemic in our midst and a collapsing economy. When America’s reputation abroad is deteriorating and we witness domestic unrest the likes of which we haven’t seen since the 1960s.

This article is designed to neither be inflammatory nor partisan. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and so many Americans have served and died for our right to exercise our freedom of speech and thought throughout our history, but there are some very dangerous trends out there. It is unequivocally clear that since 2016 there has been a sharp rise in white nationalism which the U.S. intelligence community has identified as the number one domestic terror threat in our nation. Americans are now deeply distrustful of one another and there is a prevalence of blatantly untruthful information floating in the public sphere to sway opinion. Norm after norm is shattered.

It remains deeply disturbing to me that the United States of America, the greatest nation in the history of the world, for the last two presidential cycles has come up with Hillary Rodham Clinton, Donald J. Trump, and Joseph R. Biden to be the stewards of the greatest democratic experiment this world has ever known. With that acknowledgement, I say that the United States should not be a place where its electorate believe they are forced to hold their noses while in the voting booth and voting for a lesser evil. That said, I unequivocally and totally endorse Joseph R. Biden Jr. to be the next President of the United States of America for the following reasons: Joe Biden is a decent man who has forged relationships with leaders around the world, has empathy, is willing to appoint talented individuals to key government posts, and most importantly, heeds their advice. In terms of the pandemic Joe Biden has pledged to keep Dr. Anthony Fauci and the nation’s leading infectious disease experts where they are with the difference being that they will be listened to rather than a quack doctor radiologist like Dr. Scott Atlas who is currently calling the shots and advocating for the highly dangerous herd immunity theory. We vote for Joe Biden to restore America’s place in the world, to let our allies know that we have their backs and to also let our enemies know that there is a price to pay for transgressions against us and our friends. When we learn of bounties being put on the heads of our service men and women we will expect swift and decisive action rather than inaction. My fellow Americans, aren’t you exhausted by waking up every morning to news headlines of the President of the United States tweeting something nonsensical and embarrassing? Let your voices be heard, let’s make America decent again, let’s elect Joe Biden for President of the United States. Vote like your life depends on it, because the American experiment is at stake.
