NY Pancyprian Freedoms End the Fall Season On a Winning Streak

On a cold and rainy night at the home of Scots American SC in New Jersey, the NY Pancyprian Freedoms easily won their final game of the Fall season 4-0. The NYPF opened the scoring with a goal by Arsenios Dimitriou while goalkeeper Aristides Costeas gained the shutout. The NYPF go into the Winter break of the Eastern Premier Soccer League Metropolitan Division with 8 wins and 2 losses and sitting in second place.

“We knew coming into the game that they had improved their squad and were better than last season,” said Panos Onisiforou, NYPF Head Coach. “Our players have been growing as a team with each game and we were able to end the season with powerful win.”

The NYPF II are in first place of the Cosmopolitan Soccer League First Division. They took the field against last year rival Aurora FC at Randalls Island in what has been become a much anticipated game on the schedule. Both teams came ready to play and looked to keep possession. It didnt take long for the NYPF II to break through with an early upper 90 shot by NYPF II forward Alexander Lenart. NYPF II goalkeeper George Angelidis was called upon to make a highlight reel double save that ensured the solid 4-1 victory. With this win, the NYPF II sit atop the Cosmopolitan Soccer League Third Division East with 9 wins and 1 loss.

Meanwhile, the unstoppable powerhouse that is the NYPF 0ver 30 found the back of the net 7 times to once again out-muscle Rosedale United FC O-30 with a score of 7-2. The NYPF 0-30 are comfortable in first place of the Long Island Soccer Football League Over 30 Division with 8 wins.

All teams are currently on winter break and can be found training indoors on Monday nights at Upper 90 in Astoria, Queens. The teams will get back on the field for their respective Spring seasons and cup games starting March 2023.
