Number of Refugees Staying at Military-Related Facilities Rises

The number of migrants and refugees staying at 31 accomodation centers managed by the Greek armed forces increased by 474 in one week.

A total of 22,022 individuals were staying at military-related facilities on Wednesday, against 21,548 individuals last Thursday, while the facilities’ total capacity increased from 21,766 to 22,276 (with the addition of the 31st facility).

All three branches of the armed forces provided migrants and refugees with 13,616 individual portions of food, of which 1,319 were distributed to hosting facilities outside of military management.

The three branches are also providing medical and nursing staff for the refugees.
