Nine-Year-Old Student Died in Greek School

ATHENS — Education Minister Niki Kerameus immediately contacted the family of a nine-year-old boy that died in school on Friday, at the Erimanthos municipality in Achaia.

According to Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) sources, the minister immediate called the school's headmistress and his family upon learning the news.

The same sources said the child had had a heart condition from a very young age but had submitted medical certificates allowing him to attend school. The child lost consciousness in the classroom and an ambulance was called immediately, while the school also informed the police. An ambulance arrived and the child's death was confirmed shortly afterward.
