ATHENS – Greek jewelry designer Nikos Koulis has made his mark on the luxury scene with his signature pinkie rings, a style that has become synonymous with his brand. As recently reported by The New York Times, Koulis opened a new flagship store on Voukourestiou Street, a prestigious shopping destination in Athens. This marks his fourth location in Greece, complementing his other stores in Kolonaki and the islands of Mykonos and Paros.
The new storefront, designed in collaboration with a London-based architectural firm, blends Koulis’s modern aesthetic with elements of Greek heritage. The store’s exterior features a marble-framed asymmetrical window, while the interior combines contemporary and vintage pieces, creating an inviting space for clients. The layout emphasizes Koulis’s focus on personal relationships with his clients, as the store is designed to foster meaningful interactions and consultations.
Koulis is known for creating unique, high-end pieces that often feature rare stones, such as Colombian emeralds and large diamonds. His designs incorporate bold, sculptural lines and a mix of materials, reflecting his appreciation for both traditional and modern techniques. His collections, ranging in price from $5,500 to over $55,000, have gained international acclaim, with pieces sold in prestigious stores like Bergdorf Goodman.
Despite his international reputation, Koulis has chosen to keep his business rooted in Greece, showcasing his commitment to his homeland. His latest men’s collection, released in June, features aluminum, a material he has been exploring in recent designs, combined with gold and diamonds.
Later this year, Koulis is set to release a 22-piece high jewelry collection inspired by natural forms, continuing his tradition of innovation in design. While many high-end jewelers expand globally, Koulis’s decision to remain in Greece highlights his dedication to creating a personal, intimate shopping experience that celebrates Greek craftsmanship.
