DELMAR, NY – Troy Chapter 306, Schenectady Chapter 125, and Albany Chapter 140 jointly held their 3rd Annual Eleftheria Capital Region AHEPA Golf Outing on June 15 at Normanside Country Club in Delmar, NY. A beautiful, sun-drenched day greeted the 100 golfers who enjoyed competing for team awards and individual prizes in the closest to the pin, longest drive, and hole in one contests. More than 125 golfers and friends attended the dinner banquet and were treated to a delicious meal. Following the dinner, raffle drawings for 50 donated prizes were held including the grand prizes of two lovely hand-crafted diamond rings.
The outing raised thousands of dollars for the Capital Region AHEPA Chapter scholarship funds and charitable programs, as well as the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, this year’s designated non-profit organization. The Children’s Hospital is the Capital Region’s only hospital devoted exclusively to the medical needs of infants, children and adolescents.
The outing received tremendous support from the Hellenic and business community in the Capital Region with many sponsorships and donations. The Golf Committee has already begun planning for the 2023 golf outing.

O oceanic you sing and sail
White on your body and yellow on your chimeneas
For you're tired of the filthy waters of the harbors
You who loved the distant Sporades
You who lifted the tallest flags
You who sail clear through the most dangerous caves
Hail to you who let yourself be charmed by the sirens
Hail to you for never having been afraid of the Symplegades
(Andreas Empeirikos)
