New Jersey’s New Monmouth Diner Goes Platinum, Burgers to Greek

September 27, 2020

From the Big Daddy omelette to the mountain-sized burgers – or the Greek chicken wrap – the 1950's themed New Monmouth Diner in Middletown, N.J. has a special place in the heart – and stomach – of its many adoring fans.

New Jersey has the most diners than any other state in the country, 525 and in a feature, 94.3 The Point reported the diner won a Platinum Award contest from listeners asking for their favorite Jersey Shore spot.

“Known for winning yearly awards, this diner receives nothing but great reviews and they are happy to be back seating indoor clients at 25% capacity. It is known for its nostalgic 1950s-style eatery serving heaping portions of classic American and Greek diner fare,” the review said of a place where you can see classic American cars outside too. Nothing like a 1966 Sting Ray to go with your feta or Greek omelette and drift to the days when rock 'n roll was young.

Now that you can go inside, albeit keeping a safe social distance from other customers, it's an even better bet, unless you're in a Corvette.
