You don’t have to be Greek to love Greek food and you don’t have to be Greek to cook it either, so you will find Nabor Gutierrez doing it at Olympia Gyros in Warner Robins, Georgia – with help from owner Adriana Ivanus, his partner.
It’s a spinoff of the Greek Village Restaurant with a reduced menu. “I decided to open my own place, but we’re still helping each other at both places,” said Gutierrez. “I’m still down there and she’s going to help me,” he said.
With the two restaurants across town from each other, Ivanus expects both to do well. “The whole thing is, if he’s there, it’s good,” she told The Telegraph in Macon about his place.
“I’m very sure 100 percent as a chef that the recipes that we have especially at the new place, it’s almost like Greek street food, what you get in Greece, the seasonings, the freshness,” Gutierrez said. “We make everything fresh: the meats, the vegetables, the sauces. Nothing in cans. We make everything every morning. And I’m going to be there every morning, seven days a week.”
