MONTREAL – The Montreal AHEPA Family welcomed 2023 with their annual Vasilopita cutting on January 29. Brothers, Sisters, family, and friends gathered for a luncheon at Barbies Resto Bar Grill in Brossard, having braved treacherous driving conditions due to a snowstorm.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal, coffee, and tiramisu for dessert. It was a wonderful afternoon with cheerful conversation and great company. AHEPA Past Canadian President Lakis Kalipolidis, Daughters of Penelope (DOP) Meandros Chapter #168 President Fotini Caragiannis, Sons of Pericles (SOP) Olympic SCJ1 Chapter President William Hutchison, and Maids of Athena (MOA) Electra Chapter #52 President Tiffany Bombakos each cut a Vasilopita for their Order and the pieces were shared with everyone. In attendance were members of the National Hellenic Student Association, Sister Stephanie Papoutsakis of MOA Pygmalion Chapter #126 Bayside, NY, DOP 52-year Meandros member Sister Tina Koufos, and DOP Past Canadian President, Sister Zambetoula (Betty) Drakontaidis.
