Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS – The Migration and Asylum ministry will provide the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) with two million euros, with the aim of promoting the islands affected by the migration crisis.
Migration and Asylum Minister Notis Mitarachi met with NGTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis to launch a targeted tourist campaign for the promotion of Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Kos and Leros. The Ministry is financing the GNTO for the implementation of this project to promote the islands in Greece and in selected countries abroad.
According to a ministry statement, the new tourist promotional campaign "will highlight the diversity of the islands' travel destinations and archaeological sites, gastronomic traditions and local products, their cultural wealth and their connection to sustainable development.
